چکیده

—Many RFID authentication protocols have been developed in recent years. However, most require the reader to search all tags in the system to identify a single tag. This problem makes the protocols impractical in large-scale RFID deployments. To address this problem, we propose a privacypreserving mutual authentication protocol for RFID systems with constant-time identification, based on Quadratic Residue. Furthermore, the validity period of each tag is stored in the database so the reader can revoke an expired tag. Formal security proof shows the proposed protocol has no obvious design defects. Compared with existing approaches, the proposed protocol achieves higher efficiency.

Game-Based Cryptanalysis of a Lightweight CRC-Based Authentication Protocol for EPC Tags

The term "Internet of Things (IoT)" expresses a huge network of smart and connected objects which can interact with other devices without our interposition. Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a great technology and an interesting candidate to provide communications for IoT networks, but numerous security and privacy issues need to be considered. In this paper, we analyze the security and ...

A Strong RFID Mutual Authentication Protocol Based on a Lightweight Public-key Cryptosystem

RFID is a key technology that can be used to create the ubiquitous society. However, this technology may suffer from some serious threats such as privacy disclosure. In order to solve these secure problems we propose a strong mutual authentication protocol based on a lightweight public-key cryptosystem: NTRU. The protocol assures the confidentiality of the RFID system by encrypting the messages...

An Improved Ownership Transfer and Mutual Authentication for Lightweight RFID Protocols

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology is an automated identification technology which is widely used to identify and track all kind of objects. However, it is a challenging task to design an authentication protocol because of the limited resource of Lightweight RFID tags. Recently, a lightweight RFID authentication protocol and an ownership transfer of RFID tags are presented by Kuls...

A Novel Mutual Authentication Scheme Based on Quadratic Residues of RFID Tags

In 2004, Ari Juels [1] proposed a Yoking-Proofs protocol for RFID systems. The aim is to permit tags to generate a proof which is verifiable off-line by a trusted entity even when the readers are potentially untrusted. However, we find that their protocol not only doesn’t possess the anonymity property but also suffers from both of the off-line and replay attacks. In 2006, Kirk H.M. Wong et al....

Cryptanalysis of a Lightweight RFID Authentication Protocol - LRMAP

In this paper, we present an efficient attack against the traceability of the LRMAP, a recently proposed lightweight RFID mutual authentication protocol. The attack benefits from the variance in elapsed time of the reader responses corresponding to the different tag states. We show that LRMAP does not provide untraceability, which is one of its design objectives.
